Religious School Teachers for 2025-26

We are adding to our team! Shaarei Tikvah is searching for innovative, engaging, and passionate educators for school year 2025-26 who have a passion for Judaism and have worked in a Jewish setting (informal or formal).  

About us:

Shaarei Tikvah (“ST”) is a progressive, engaged Conservative community in Scarsdale, NY.  Our community of 325 families has grown tremendously in the past two years. We’ve been described as Westchester’s “hidden gem,” and we expect our growth will continue. At Shaarei Tikvah’s religious school (PK-6), we seek to inspire our children with a sense of wonder and appreciation of Judaism’s rich heritage and culture. Our weekday-only program (Monday - Thursday 4:00 - 6:15) provides a strong foundation in tefillah, Israel, chaggim, Ivrit, and parashat hashavua, incorporating music and the arts in unique activities that make learning fun. Through questioning, creating, active participation and special family programs, children experience and learn about mitzvot, Torah, Shabbat, holidays, Israel and Jewish history. 

Our teachers will: 

• Envision our curriculum with the support and guidance of the Education Director
• Design and facilitate thoughtful, engaging lessons
• Encourage children to question, create, and find joy in Jewish practice & learning  
• A degree in Education or a related field is preferred but not required

Multiple Positions Available

• Classroom teachers in Grades K-6 (schedules vary by age group – PK, K and 1st, meet once a week, 2nd-6th meet twice a week; teacher may teach 1, 2, or 4 days per week)
• Small group Hebrew teachers to work with students with learning differences (Grades 3-6)

Compensation is commensurate with experience (per 1 day of teaching $4700-$5,200/annually)
