Full-time Synagogue Administrator

A warm, vibrant Conservative synagogue in Wayne, NJ, is looking for a dynamic full-time administrator for a congregation of about 250 families.

Our Synagogue Administrator reports to the Congregation’s Executive Vice President and Rabbi. Primary responsibilities include:

• Overseeing day-to-day operations of the office
• Managing and maintaining the facility
• Handling the synagogue’s finances in cooperation with the financial officers
• Serving as a contact person for prospective and current members
• Coordinating all events and the synagogue calendar

Desired qualifications include:

• A working knowledge of Jewish holidays, practices, and terminology
• Ability to reinforce and enhance our warm, friendly environment
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new programs and technologies
• Experience with databases is essential and knowledge of ShulCloud is helpful
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and QuickBooks
• Social media skills
• Maintaining a high level of confidentiality
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact well and create an environment of trust with the Board of Trustees, congregants, staff, and others
• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate on projects as well as previous experience planning, developing, and completing projects
• Excellent oral, written, and proofreading skills
• Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure while staying organized
• Prior supervisory experience
• Salary- $50,000-55,000
