Communications & Partnerships Manager 

(Full time, remote from NY or NJ) 

American Friends of ELEM is Israel’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to treating and transforming the lives of youth in distress. ELEM serves as an address to youth in various condition of risk, creating a non-judgmental relationship with them and assisting them in paving their way towards reintegration into the community. 

 For this critical role, ELEM seeks a strong, dynamic individual who is capable of clearly articulating the convincing case for ELEM. As a key member of the team, you must be committed to the mission and goals of the organization and harness the many opportunities in which we can continue to communicate ELEM’s vision and impact. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities 

 

Marketing & Communications 

  • Propose and implement communication and marketing strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives. This includes collaboration with the organization’s CEO and Fundraising Team as well as other cross-functional teams.
  • Provide oversight and collaboration with third-party vendors.
  • Adhere to all organizational brand usage guidelines, including developing brand guidelines and templates.
  • Develop content (Web, print, PPT, digital and other) that best conveys key messages and meets business goals of organization.
  • Develop and manage content to the organization’s current and future social media channels (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and emerging networks).
  • Develop, manage, and review content for the organization’s public-facing website, update with fresh content on a regular basis.
  • Develop and implement a newsletter and direct mail appeal strategy for external audiences.
  • Actively pitch story ideas about the organization to local, regional and national media outlets as appropriate.
  • Track, measure and report the effectiveness of communication programs, marketing campaigns and events.
  • Identify stakeholders and target audiences, and encourage engagement. Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate constituency groups. Represent the organization at various events, on committees, at meetings, etc., as appropriate. 
  • Work with a variety of individuals and groups across the organization in a constructive and civil manner.
  • Assist in budget development for organizational marketing and communications efforts and provide projections and recommendations.

 

Partnerships 

  • Identify and source partnership opportunities through lead follow-up and outbound cold calls, and emails.
  • Research partners, identify key players and generate interest.
  • Keep great ongoing relationships with current partners and offer new ways to grow the partnership.
  • Drive growth to create mutually beneficial relationships that enhance our brand, expand our reach, and generate revenue.
  • Negotiate agreements and oversee the implementation and execution of partnership initiatives.
  • Initiate, manage, strengthen, and nurture relationships with key stakeholders at partner organizations.
  • Visit corporate partners on-site at their business and pitch ELEM’s mission.
  • Responsible for inputting all communications into ELEM’s database, DonorPerfect.
  • Build pitch decks for presentations and develop target market strategy and messaging.
  • Track, analyze, and report on metrics related to nonprofit partner recruitment and engagement.

 

Events 

  • Provide support to the Development team as needed.
  • Execute day-of-event logistics for in-person and virtual events, including ELEM’s annual gala. Assist with room setups, make sure audio-visual requirements are met, manage virtual Zoom productions as a host/operator, and other event logistics.
  • Plan, manage, and implement events in collaboration with staff and CEO.
  • In collaboration with the CEO and the Development team, work proactively to secure in-kind donations as necessary.
  • Collaborate on implementation, production, and close-out of all events, including vendor relationships, budgets, timelines, and event logistics.

 

Qualifications 

  • Must be located in NY or NJ
  • Exceptional skills in professional writing, editing, and story development.
  • A persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with string project management skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient Hebrew skills and Israel experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge in WordPress and social media management tools is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of graphic design and printing processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills for tracking, measuring, and reporting.
  • 2-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, and events.
  • Familiarity with broad social media trends and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with the confidence, judgment, and maturity to take the lead when necessary or let others lead when appropriate.
