We are seeking a full-time, dynamic, Wellness Education Teacher to be part of our Wellness team. 

 

The Wellness Education Teacher’s primary responsibility is to provide a safe and nurturing environment while teaching skills to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Skill work, game play, and assessments are all part of the curriculum. 

Candidates must adjust their curricula to adapt to children with disabilities or different physical abilities in order to create a positive and productive experience for all students.

 

Candidate attributes include kindness, flexibility, high energy, and an ability to create innovative and engaging games and activities while teaching alone or as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Education Degree preferred; Master’s degree preferred 
  • State teaching certification in health and physical education (P.E.) preferred
  • Early childhood experience
  • Coaching experience, with a desire to coach
  • First aid training

 

Personal Requirements:

  • Must work well on a team
  • Understand the difference and importance of physical education vs. physical activity, recognizing that each child’s journey is personal
  • Ability to demonstrate skills and move with students
  • Excellent Communication and problem solving skills
  • Prioritize safety first 
  • Understand students' disabilities and adaptive P.E. techniques where applicable 
  • Value social emotional learning
  • Value compassion and respect for all 
  • Must support the School’s Mission and Core Values
