Job Title:  Grants Compliance Manager

Program: Schechter Holocaust Services

Job Location: Waltham

Salary Range: $55,000-$66,000

 

Position Summary:

Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JF&CS) is home to Schechter Holocaust Services (SHS), Greater Boston’s only program providing Holocaust survivors – the majority of whom are Russian-speaking – with vital services such as home care, food and medicine. These and other services seek to ensure that victims of Nazi persecution can age with dignity while maintaining meaningful connections with one another and with the Jewish community.

JF&CS is seeking a responsible, detail-oriented Grants Compliance Manager to join our passionate team. Working in partnership with the Program Director and the Case Managers, the person in this position will perform key administrative and fiscal duties to ensure compliance with Claims Conference regulations and procedures. This involves working closely with the Program Director to monitor spending on homecare, serving as the primary liaison to the homecare agencies, supervising the other SHS administrative and fiscal staff and interfacing with the JF&CS Fiscal department. This position reports to the SHS Program Director. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Systems Oversight and Efficiency
    • Ensure billing, processes and procedures comply with grant guidelines and look for opportunities to innovate and improve
    • Reconcile payment requests and ensure their proper allocation to various funding sources
    • Supervise administrative/fiscal staff members
  • Analysis, Planning, and Reporting
    • Forecast homecare and emergency financial assistance spending to ensure allocations are within budget
    • Compile data necessary to assist the Program Director with completion of funder and contract reports
    • Serve as the primary interface with the JF&CS Finance Department
    • Provide leadership in preparing for internal and external audits 
  • Client Assistance Liaison
    • Manage relationships with homecare agencies and individuals that provide services to clients
    • Take on additional duties and projects as assigned, embracing a dynamic and fulfilling work environment

Educational/Experience Requirements 

  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree (accounting or finance preferred) plus 3 years of relevant experience, OR 7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with grants
  • Ability to analyze a large amount of data and report back findings
  • A keen eye for detail and excellent analytical skills, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial and reporting data
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel with strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Self-initiated as well as able to work effectively as part of a team
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, demonstrating a willingness to learn and thrive in a team setting
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills are a must, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and clients alike
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative environment where teamwork, collegiality and self-motivation are necessary for success
  • Interest in and/or knowledge of the Holocaust a plus

Position Highlights & Benefits

  • Full-time, exempt position
  • Annual salary range: $55,000-$66,000
  • Hybrid schedule, requiring at least 2 days in-person in the Waltham office.
  • Paid time off includes ample sick time and 22 days of vacation, in addition to national and some Jewish holidays
