Temple Judea, a vibrant, progressive, Reform congregation with 750+ households, located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, seeks an energetic, warm, and organized individual to be a 15 hour/week Administrative Assistant to provdie support needed to help ensure that our services, classes, programs, and other activities run smoothly and professionally.  You will also help ensure that Temple Judea is warm, welcoming, and inviting to members, visitors and guests.  While the work will primarily be done during weekday business hours, there might be an occasional evening, weekend or holiday need.  You will report directly to the Executive Director and work collaboratively with our clergy team and office staff.

Candidates should have excellent organizational and communication skills and be committed to making the synagogue experience the best it can be.  Knowledge of Jewish customs and celebrations is preferred.

Responsiblities:

Admistrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the clergy, staff and board members, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing correspondence.

Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for members and visitors, handling phone calls, emails, and in person inquiries with professionalism and kindness.

Event coordination: Take reservations, credit cards, and maintain lists for event management.

Membership Services: Manage membership records, handle inquiries, and assist with communication and outreach.

Donations: Catalogue donations, enter information into data base, and write thank you and acknowledgement letters.

Work Schedule:

Two days a week from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Required Skills:

Organizational: ability to prioritize, take initiative and work independently or as a member of a team.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (word, excel) and Google Workspace (google docs, gmail)

Comfort with technology and a demonstrated ability to learn new programs/new skills.

Good communication skills -both written and verbal.

Excellen interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with Jewish customs and celebrations and enthusiasm for expanding knowledge about Jewish life.

Proficiency with other software programs like Constant Contact, ShulCloud and Zoom.

Education/Experience:

Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred

Experience with synagogue or other Jewish organization preferred.

Salary/Benefits:

$20-$25/hour depending on experience.

Generous PTO (holidays, personal, vacation)

Yearly Membership to the temple.
