Position Overview
The Director of Admissions and Administration at Alexander Muss High School is responsible for the strategic direction, administration and operational management of the admissions processes and departmental management for a world-class study abroad program.
The role requires a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, administrative and management experience, analytic and strategic thinker.
The director of Admissions and Administration will collaborate closely with the Leadership team across two continents, the recruitment team in America and will report to the Associate Head of School.
The position is based out of our Rockville Centre, Long Island office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive admissions strategy aligned with the school's mission, vision, and goals.
- Lead and manage the admissions team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. (This includes supervising account manager/registrar, junior finance/bursar, interviewer(s)).
- Cultivate relationships with feeder schools, educational consultants/guidance counselors, and other key stakeholders to support recruitment efforts.
- Oversee the entire admissions process, from deposit to enrollment and departure to Israel, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for prospective students and their families.
- Review and evaluate student applications, supervise interviewer(s), and make admissions decisions in accordance with the school's criteria.
- Manage the admissions process and incorporate the Salesforce database, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of student information.
- Communicate effectively with prospective students and their families, providing information, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
- Prepare regular reports on admissions metrics for the school administration and board of directors.
- Serve as a liaison to other administrative departments and collaborate with the relevant professional staff.
- Work closely with Marketing with regards to any material and information sent to students and their families
- Manage all travel information and operation for the students, including working with vendors and senior management

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in office management (preferably with school admissions, administration, or a related field).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and listening
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in admissions software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong technology, database and CRM skills
- Billing and accounting experience preferred.
- Moderate travel and availability for evenings and weekends on as needed basis
- Candidates must have a valid US driver's license, access to a car and personal credit card to use for travel (documented expenses are reimbursed per company policy)
