                                                         Synagogue Assistant Administrator

Job Title: Synagogue Assistant Administrator

Reports To: Executive Director

Job Summary:

The Synagogue Assistant Administrator will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the synagogue. This role involves managing various tasks related to membership, events, communications, and office management using ShulCloud, Constant Contact, and Microsoft Suite.

Key Responsibilities:

Membership Management: Maintain and update member records in ShulCloud, including contact information, membership status, and lifecycle events

Event Coordination: Assist in planning and organizing synagogue events, using ShulCloud for scheduling and tracking attendance

Communication: Manage email campaigns and newsletters using Constant Contact to keep congregants informed about synagogue activities and events. Graphic design using Canva a plus.

Office Management:  Handle day-to-day office tasks, including answering phones, managing correspondence, and maintaining office supplies

Document Preparation:  Create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Social Media:  creating content and posting to various Social Media platforms, managing and reporting metrics generated by posts & events.

Financial Support:  Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, such as tracking bills and payments, organizing receipts, and following up with vendors. Experience with QuickBooks a plus.

Website Management: Update and maintain the synagogue's website using Shul Cloud’s web tools

Data Security:  Ensure the security of member information and compliance with privacy policies

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in ShulCloud, Constant Contact, and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- QuickBooks and Canva experience is preferable.

- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Previous experience in an administrative role is a plus

 

Compensation:

- Salary: $18-$22 per hour, depending on experience

- Benefits: Health insurance stipend, paid vacation/sick time, honorary synagogue membership
