About Us: Hebrew Academy Miami is a Modern Orthodox Jewish day school in Miami Beach, Florida serving students from early childhood through 12th grade. We are committed to academic excellence, Jewish values, and fostering a love of Torah in a nurturing and dynamic environment.

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Middle and High School Judaic Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to deepen their connection to Torah, Jewish values, and their personal identity as Jews. This teacher will create a vibrant and meaningful learning environment, guiding students in the study of Tanach, Talmud, Halacha, and Jewish thought.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Judaic Studies for middle and high school students.
  • Teach a range of Judaic subjects, including Tanach, Talmud, Halacha, Jewish History, and Jewish thought.
  • Foster a love for Torah learning and Jewish values, encouraging students to apply these principles to their daily lives.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Judaic Studies curriculum and integrate interdisciplinary learning.
  • Serve as a role model in personal and professional conduct, demonstrating commitment to Torah values and the school’s mission.
  • Participate in school events, professional development, and team meetings.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and the broader school community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Judaic Studies, Jewish Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Rabbinic ordination or advanced Torah learning credentials preferred.
  • Experience teaching Judaic Studies at the middle and/or high school level.
  • Proficiency in Hebrew language and ability to teach text-based classes.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and connect with adolescents.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or possess a valid work visa.
  • Commitment to Modern Orthodox values and a passion for Jewish education.
