DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
https://www.atljewishacademy.org/
Atlanta Jewish Academy (AJA) is a Modern Orthodox, Zionist, co-educational, preschool-12th grade independent Jewish Day School located in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Director will be responsible for raising the necessary dollars as reported in each budget year, as well as oversee the Student Scholarship Organization (SSO) GOAL program, which also raises tax-credit dollars for tuition assistance. This position will create, organize, and implement the many events that raise the needed dollars. The Director is expected to cultivate new donors, solicit donations on an annual basis, and steward these financial supporters. The Director organizes and attends the LEADS program, an AJA leadership initiative that prepares parents to join committees and serve on the Board of Directors. The Director will also be responsible to run additional future campaigns the school foresees. The person who fills the position should be prepared to serve as a positive ambassador in the community
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The Director of Development reports directly to the Head of School. The Director works closely with the Marketing Department to develop materials for the annual campaigns and for the specific needs of the comprehensive campaign. AJA’s Development team is currently composed of the Development Director and one other professional who focuses almost entirely on the GOAL fundraising project. The Administrative team features an Executive Administrative Assistant who will work with the Director on some of the projects; the Director currently does much of their own clerical work.
Applicants who are already familiar with the Veracross and CMS platforms will present as stronger candidates. Demonstrated abilities to learn new software platforms quickly will enhance a candidate’s presentation.
The Jewish Community Professional grant (see Zalik JCP above) ensures that applicants with K-12 grade students will be able to send those children to AJA at 50% off the expected tuition.
