Job Description Summary
The Greater Miami Jewish Federation is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and relationship-driven professional to serve as Director of the Young Leadership Division (YLD). This pivotal leadership role will spearhead our Federation’s outreach, engagement, and leadership development efforts focused on cultivating the next generation of Jewish community leaders and philanthropists in Miami.
The Director will provide visionary leadership to advance YLD’s mission as the primary “entry point” for young adults into the Greater Miami Jewish Federation community. This individual will be responsible for designing and executing innovative engagement strategies, overseeing a comprehensive annual campaign, and developing a pipeline of emerging volunteer leaders. The Director will work closely with Federation leadership, lay partners, community organizations, and national programs to strengthen Jewish identity, foster meaningful connections, and ensure a thriving future for Miami’s Jewish community.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Lead the strategic direction, visioning, and long-term planning for the Young Leadership Division, aligning goals with Federation’s mission and priorities. • Continually assess and refine YLD’s engagement strategy, program offerings, and campaign initiatives to meet the evolving needs of Miami’s NextGen Jewish community.
• Direct and manage the Young Leadership annual campaign, including identifying, cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting new and existing donors.
• Develop and implement tailored donor engagement strategies with a focus on building lifelong philanthropic relationships and leadership pipelines.
• Personally manage a significant portfolio of prospects and donors, conducting face-to-face solicitations and stewarding relationships.
• Recruit, train, and motivate a team of volunteer solicitors to actively participate in campaign efforts.
• Lead, inspire, and collaborate with a dynamic team of volunteer leaders, including the YLD Executive Co-Chairs, Executive Committee, and YLD Board.
• Foster a culture of leadership growth by identifying, mentoring, and advancing future leaders within YLD and the broader Jewish community.
• Supervise, mentor, and support a professional team including a Campaign Associate and Administrative Assistant.
• Create a collaborative, mission-driven, and outcomes-focused team culture.
• Oversee the strategic planning and execution of diverse engagement programs including social, business networking, volunteer service, travel, and Jewish learning opportunities.
• Manage Honeymoon Israel program recruitment, pre-trip programming, and staff participation on trips.
• Coordinate and recruit for high-profile Federation events such as The Main Event, Lion of Judah, Sunset Over Miami, and other community-wide initiatives.
• Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with local organizations, national movements, synagogues, and community stakeholders.
• Oversee operational aspects of the division, including budget development, event logistics, marketing coordination, data management, and reporting.
• Utilize technology and Federation systems to track and evaluate engagement metrics, campaign progress, and leadership development outcomes.
Qualification & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in nonprofit management, Jewish communal service, business, or a related field preferred.
• 5-7 years of progressive professional experience in community organizing, donor development, fundraising, and volunteer leadership — preferably within Jewish communal organizations and/or with NextGen constituencies.
• Proven track record in strategic leadership, donor cultivation, and campaign management.
• Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and inspire volunteer and professional teams.
• Exceptional relationship-building, interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
• Strong supervisory, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to think creatively, problem-solve, and implement forward-thinking engagement initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a collaborative, team-based technology environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary
• Strong familiarity with Jewish culture, history, and traditions preferred to support community engagement and cultural programming.

This is a sedentary role; Physical requirement of being able to lift 15 pounds at times. The position primarily involves working at a desk, sitting for extended periods while using a computer, phone, or other digital devices.
