Compensation: Salary based on candidate’s experience. Includes generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403(b) after one full year of employment, and generous vacation, sick, and holiday paid time off in accordance with plan terms.

Reports to:  Program Manager and Senior Loan Analyst

Job Description:  The Loan Analyst should be a leader and critical thinker, ready to solve problems before they become obstacles. From the beginning of the application process to the end, the Loan Analyst must ensure that all loans and clients are given the highest quality of service. A passion for the mission of JFLA, aptitude for problem-solving, being a team player, and outstanding interpersonal skills are all important aspects of the job.

The position includes but is not limited to; scheduling client interviews, conducting client interviews, compiling client stories, processing of loan documents, data entry, and some office support for an enthusiastic and dedicated team. The position requires excellent communication skills in all aspects (Verbal, Non-verbal, Written, Oral, Face to face), compassion and empathy.

Responsibilities:

Client & Program Management:

  • Assess client needs, process applications, and determine loan eligibility for all caseloads.
  • The case load will be comprised of primarily personal/emergency loans, and the loans of other caseloads be reviewed as necessary.
  • Maintain client communication, conduct virtual interviews, and provide application support.
  • Prepare and present loan cases, advocate for clients, and approve disbursements.
  • Support loan servicing and payment schedules.

Administrative & Outreach Support:

  • Manage client data in Salesforce and handle general clerical tasks.
  • Assist with marketing by generating client stories.
  • Support staff projects
  • Engage in community outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated individual who can thrive in a remote work environment and is adept at managing their workload effectively.
  • Self-starter and the ability to think critically.
  • Understanding of and dedication to JFLA's mission, with the ability to convey its importance to a variety of audiences.
  • Must be based in the Los Angeles area with the flexibility to attend in-person meetings and events as necessary.
  • Conversational level Spanish is preferred.
