Katz Yeshiva High School, a private Jewish high school in Boca Raton, Florida, offers a rigorous dual curriculum in Judaic and General Studies to a student body of 500.  Our faculty consists of educators with diverse backgrounds who possess a shared passion for inspiring students and instilling within them a lifelong love of learning. We are currently recruiting for the position of High School English Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

KYHS is seeking an experienced English teacher with a wide breadth of knowledge in literature and language who is committed to cultivating students’ love of reading, developing their grammar and composition skills, and creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and academic success.  

Applicants should have a degree in English or English Education (master’s preferred), substantial experience in designing and delivering English curriculum, and familiarity with discipline-specific instructional methods. Preference will be given to candidates with excellent classroom management and communication skills as well as a demonstrable ability to differentiate instruction in service of meeting the diverse needs of their students.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach five English classes a week for a total of 20 periods. Develop and deliver engaging lessons that are consistent with course content and objectives and give assessments that challenge students to think critically and creatively. 
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect. Tailor teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and individual student needs. 
  • Instill a sense of literary curiosity by guiding students through sophisticated analysis and interpretation of different genres of literature.  
  • Develop students’ writing proficiency by offering expert guidance on composition, rhetoric, grammar, and effective communication. 
  • Maintain open and proactive communication with parents to discuss student progress, address concerns, and collaborate on ways to help students achieve success. 
  • Stay current with educational trends, participate in professional development opportunities, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
