About TalkIsrael

TalkIsrael is a nonprofit that aims to create a more positive and constructive dialogue about Israel among English-speaking teens using the power of social media. Through its original content, free workshops, programs, and experiences, TalkIsrael empowers young American and Israeli creators to enhance their storytelling skills, develop their personal social media brand, and become advocates for positive change.

Following October 7th, TalkIsrael has made a significant impact by training hundreds of young content creators to share their Israel-related experiences authentically and positively on social media. Our work reaches millions of Americans, bridges cultural divides, and fosters greater understanding of Israel through original, engaging content.

Position Overview

We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Social Media Education Manager who is passionate about Israel and skilled in social media to lead our educational initiatives across North America. This is a full-time position with an option of hybrid or remote.

As the Social Media Education Manager at TalkIsrael, you will be at the forefront of empowering high school students, college students, and young adults to become positive and active voices for Israel on social media. Through dynamic, interactive workshops, you’ll equip participants with strategies to share non-political, Israel-related content effectively, counter misinformation, and utilize social media in impactful, creative ways.

This role involves delivering workshops online and in person as well as creating and refining educational materials to ensure relevance, engagement, and alignment with current social media trends and key events.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Engaging Workshops - Lead interactive workshops for high school students, college students, and young adults across North America, delivering content both in-person and virtually.
  • Content Development & Customization - Develop, update, and maintain tailored educational resources, presentations, and materials that resonate with specific audience groups and meet current needs.
  • Trend Monitoring & Integration - Stay updated on the latest social media trends, platform features, Israel-related events, and cultural developments to ensure content is timely and relevant.
  • Curriculum Development & Collaboration - Work closely with the TalkIsrael team to continually enhance and expand educational curricula to be impactful and align with the organization's mission.
  • Workshop Outreach & Promotion - Identify and secure opportunities to conduct workshops and training sessions; assist in creating promotional materials to market workshops and programs effectively.
  • Travel for Program Delivery - Travel approximately 25-40% of the time to lead workshops, with travel expenses and per diem provided. Some evening and weekend availability is required.
  • Participant Engagement & Follow-Up - Engage with participants during and after workshops, creating a supportive community of young advocates and establishing follow-up processes.
  • Team Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing - Attend program and team meetings to share insights, update the team on social media trends, and ensure consistent content across all educational initiatives.
  • Guest Speaker Engagement - Research and coordinate relevant guest speakers for programs, ensuring alignment with workshop goals.
  • Creative Content Creation - Identify collaborative content creation opportunities with partners during workshops to enhance learning and participant engagement.
