Administrative Assistant at Beth El Synagogue
Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the synagogue's daily operations, ensuring smooth communication and efficient administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Rabbi, staff, and board members, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing correspondence.
- Office Management: Maintain office supplies, manage files and records, and ensure the office environment is clean and welcoming.
- Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for members and visitors, handling phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with professionalism and kindness.
- Event Coordination: Assist in the planning and executing synagogue events, including Shabbat services, holiday celebrations, and community programs.
- Membership Services: Manage membership records, handle inquiries, and assist with communications and outreach.
- Assist Senior Rabbi: Maage Senior Rabbi Calendar and help with life cycle events
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in an administrative or office management role, preferably in a non-profit or religious organization.
- Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database management.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and a friendly, welcoming demeanor. Knowledge of Jewish customs and practices is a plus.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in office administration are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
Beth El offers a competitive salary and generous benefits package, as summarized below. Candidates invited for an interview can receive more specific information on benefits.
Salary: $42,500 to $50,000 depending on experience
Full Time / PartTime- This is a full-time position, but we are willing to consider part-time for the right candidate

We offer an Orthodox Kehillah affiliated with the Orthodox Union for those who wish to worship according to that tradition.
