POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Bay Area One Happy Camper (OHC) Administrator will be responsible for managing, marketing, and championing One Happy Camper and other relevant camper incentive grants in Bay Area communities, including but not limited to San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland. Serving on FJC’s Field Growth team, the OHC Administrator will manage and administer the One Happy Camper grant system for Bay Area campers, including approving and confirming grants for families and camps. The OHC Administrator will conduct outreach to the Jewish community and be a visible presence at communal programs through key partner organizations, such as JCCs, camps, synagogues, and other Jewish agencies. Reporting to FJC’s West Coast Regional Director and working in partnership with the Bay Area Jewish Federation, the OHC Administrator will customize OHC marketing materials and language for the Federation and broader community. This role requires excellent customer service and compassionate communication skills when working with families. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Administer One Happy Camper program operations via regular maintenance of FJC’s custom-built registration system, including grant approvals, communication with families, troubleshooting, and supporting payment processes. 
  • Cultivate relationships with local camps and local Jewish organizations to promote camping in the region. 
  • Customize OHC marketing materials in partnership with FJC’s marketing team; distribute materials to relevant organizations and for online advertising. 
  • Attend relevant Jewish communal and/or camp-related events and opportunities to represent and champion One Happy Camper, Bay Area Jewish camps, and the diversity of FJC network camps. 
  • Coordinate OHC marketing and camp campaign in the Bay Area 
  • Coordinate relevant activities with the Bay Area Federation, including confirmation of One Happy Camper annual budget and marketing content. 
  • Attend and participate in weekly supervision, team, and staff meetings. 
  • Support West Coast Regional Director in scheduling and organizing local camp leadership meetings. 
  • Additional responsibilities, as determined by the West Coast Regional Director and Senior Director of Field Growth. 

YOUR KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant office experience required (administrative, customer service, grants management, etc). 
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring strong and consistent customer service skills, either internal and/or external, strongly preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) preferred. 
  • Access to a vehicle and ability to travel locally within the Bay Area for communal events and marketing or networking opportunities required. 
  • Availability to work occasionally on weekends and evenings to attend community events and promote camp required. 
  • Quarterly travel at a minimum is required. 
  • Marketing experience a plus.

COMPENSATION DETAILS  

This is a grant-funded position that pays $30/hour for an estimated 20-25 hours of work per week (not to exceed 8 hours in a day).
