Toddler Teacher

We are hiring NOW for Fall 2025, and we are looking for you! Valley Beth Shalom’s Early Childhood Center (VBS ECC), a vibrant synagogue program in Encino, is expanding. We are looking for experienced lead toddler classroom educators to inspire and care for children ages 18- 36 months. Ideal candidates will be energetic, collaborative, innovative, warm, and committed to Jewish values. Experience transitioning toddler-aged children and their families is a must. Candidate should have a solid background in developmentally appropriate, emergent, and play-based curricula. Half-day and full-day positions are available. Summer work is optional. Hebrew speaker a plus!

Responsibilities include:
- Curriculum planning for toddlers (18-36 months), implementation, documentation and reflection
- Assessment of children’s developmental needs and goal-setting
- Ongoing collaboration with teaching teams, administration, Temple staff and families
- Completion of required health and safety training, including pediatric CPR and first aid (we provide training)
- Compliance with all local and county professional requirements, including mandatory immunizations, fingerprinting/background checks
 

Qualified candidates must possess:
- Effective oral and written communication
- Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to see the world through children's eyes
- Ability to work well with others, lead with kindness, and solve problems collaboratively
- Curiosity and a joy for life-long learning
- Proof of transcripts documenting successful completion of all required coursework and training, including infant-toddler units (per Cal code reg Title 22 101416.2)
