Position Summary:  Tiferet Bet Israel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Education Director to join our team. The Assistant Director role will primarily focus on TBI’s Abramson Early Childhood Center to ensure the smooth operation of the school, support the teaching staff, and enhance the educational experience of our students.  This position reports directly to the Director of Education and indirectly to TBI’s Senior Staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director in daily operations and administration of the ECEC.
  • Supervise and support teaching staff, including conducting regular observations and providing feedback.
  • Assist the Director to plan and implement curriculum and activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that reflects Jewish values and traditions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, addressing their concerns and providing updates on their children's progress.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating school events, programs, and holiday celebrations.
  • Manage enrollment and maintain accurate student records.
  • Assist with budget management and resource allocation.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with early childhood education best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned which may include:
    • Serve as a teacher in our Religious School program
    • Assist with planning and implementing synagogue programming

Professional Requirements and Skills:

  • Three to five years of relatable professional experience
  • Experience working with children and families required
  • Experience in an experiential Jewish setting (congregation, summer camp, JCC, youth movement) preferred
  • Experience and comfort creating Jewish and secular curricula for learners of all ages
  • Collaborative and team-centric approach
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Proficient at Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
