Overview

Founded in 1998, the Foundation for Jewish Camp (FJC) works to grow, support, and strengthen the Jewish camp movement. Leveraging over $16M in annual philanthropic giving, FJC scales programs and resources that benefit more than 300 Jewish day and overnight camps (serving 180,000 youth, teens, and young adults) across North America each summer.

FJC partners with Jewish camps and summer experiences to promote excellence in management, programs, and enrollment by providing thought leadership, professional development, funding, research, data and inspiring innovation in the camping field. Led by the values of community mindedness, excellence, joy, agility, social responsibility and imagination, FJC is the central advocate and resource for Jewish camps to thrive. By helping access untapped funds and resources, FJC supports camps in delivering the best possible Jewish experience for families and helps camps survive when times are tough.

FJC seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic, and passionate Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to lead the strategic direction and execution of all philanthropic and marketing initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CAO will play a critical role on the executive team, and will lead a strong team of 8, with 5 direct reports. The Chief Advancement Officer will spend approximately 50% of their time focused externally on relationship building, working closely with the Board of Director and donors, and generating revenue for FJC, approximately 20% of their time on fundraising strategy and vision, and the remaining 30% overseeing and managing the marketing and fundraising teams. A successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, an outstanding storyteller, and an exceptional major gifts fundraiser.

This position requires approximately 30% travel. Candidates based in NYC are on a hybrid schedule, and the NYC team is typically in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
