The Director of Advancement, Marketing, and Communications is responsible for leading the school’s resource development, including developing and maintaining active and productive relationships with board members, donors, and administration.  The position reports to the Head of School.  The position also supports JETCO as the THA liaison to the JETCO board.

Position Responsibilities

Fundraising

  • Design, implement, and manage all fundraising activities including annual giving, endowment and capital campaigns, special projects, and other school-related solicitations.
  • Manage strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and relationships.
  • Serve as a member of the Grant Writing Team along with the Head of School and Chief Operations Officer.
  • Develop fundraising strategies which build stronger donor connectivity and longevity.
  • Ensure performance on open pledges.
  • Develop “in-kind” donation strategies resulting in savings of operation costs for school.
  • Develop a comprehensive planned-giving program, working in partnership with the Jewish Community Foundation where needed.
  • Seek training on an annual basis to remain current on laws, requirements, and trends surrounding development.

Marketing and Communications

  • Design, implement, and manage marketing and communication strategies.
  • Build System for Annual Report Development.
  • Hands on communcation to varoius stakeholders.
  • Analyze opportunites for marketing budget spending and gauge effectiveness.
  • Increase the quality and effectiveness of our communications.
  • Build resources within the community to leverage communications.

Board of Trustee Relations

  • Work with the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees and the Head of School to develop strategies to initiate the meet fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Develop fundraising training for trustees and other advancement volunteers.

Development Office Infrastructure

  • Oversight of office systems to support all Advancement projects and operations.
  • Supervise donor and gift record keeping.
  • Coordinate development research activities.
  • Oversee the management of databases and all records, files, and gift processing.
  • Manage the pledge reminder and acknowledgement programs.
  • Participate in the Communications Team along with the Chief Operations Officer and the Principal/Director of Admissions.

Alumni Relations

  • Manage and maintain the alumni database
  • Organize and support an alumni association.
  • Organize alumni events, collect news and information about the members of the alumni for publication, and keep accurate records of the school’s alumni.

JETCO Liaison

  • Act as liaison with the JETCO board.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Arizona Department of Revenue school tuition organization requirements.
  • Facilitate the yearly low-income corporation contribution process with JETCO corporate donors.
  • Oversee the management of databases and all records, files, and contribution processing.
