Music Teacher / Songleader (Early Childhood & Elementary)

Are you an enthusiastic, Jewish (or “Jew-ish”!) musician with a big personality? Do you love singing with kids and families? Then you might be a great fit to join us.

Much of this role will be working for Tkiya at Temple Isaiah in Lafayette, CA. You'll be leading preschool music one morning per week, elementary school music and tefilah on Sunday mornings, Tuesday afternoons, and Wednesday afternoons, once a month Shabbat experiences on Fridays, High Holiday services, and more! Tkiya also has programs in other parts of the East Bay and beyond, and there's lots of opportunities to add on to this role. This position is 10-20 hours per week.

Tkiya provides a lot of training and structure, so you do not need a lot of experience for this role, but rather an engaging personality and eagerness to learn. You must have some basic guitar or ukulele skills.

Tkiya creates Jewish music experiences to help people of all ages find their unique connection to Jewish culture and connection. We work primarily with families and children ages 0-5 as well as school age children, senior citizens, and more. We partner with more than 80 communities across the country including synagogues, JCCs, PJ Library, and other organizations.
