Description

Congregation Kol Tikvah is a reform Jewish synagogue based in Parkland, Florida.  Our dynamic 300 family synagogue has serviced Northwest Broward County for more than 30 years, and spans the complete spectrum of Jewish beliefs.  Our congregation has grown to become a multigenerational kehillah kedoshah, with a diverse membership unitive in their love of Judaism.

Congregation Kol Tikvah is embarking on a capital campaign with a dual focus – to simultaneously raise between $1.8 and $3.5 million in capital gifts, while also fully launching a comprehensive legacy program.  We are seeking a skilled professional to help coordinate and oversee these efforts.

This professional will serve as the administrative hub for both critical activities, ensuring effective communication, meeting benchmarks and timeline objectives, facilitating administrative tasks including pre-solicitation research and follow up, and reporting on progress to the Executive Committee, Board of Trustees and Executive professional Leadership team.   While this professional will not be tasked with making direct solicitations, having deep knowledge on how to leverage and combine these solicitations in an effective manner will be critical to the success of both this role and our campaigns.

This is a short term, contracted role with an initial time frame of 6 months, with a potential to extend up to another 8 months should the need arise on a monthly basis.   The initial contract will be paid a total of $40,000-$50,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Coordinate, schedule and track all parlor meetings, solicitation conversations, one on one meetings.
  • Coaching volunteers on making solicitations.
  • Track all solicitation outcomes, ensuring appropriate data collection and reporting.
  • Participate in all planning meetings and trainings.
  • Prepare portfolio briefs of all potential donors prior to solicitation meetings
  • Create and curate all marketing and communications elements, including pre-solicitation materials, stewardship letters, etc.
  • Coordinate and participate in all planning meetings with executive leadership and campaign volunteer leadership.
  • Other potential duties related to our campaigns as assigned.

 THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE/HAVE:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Minimum 5 years in fundraising or financial resource development experience, specifically within capital campaigns and/or legacy campaigns
  • Understanding of the Jewish community and synagogue life
  • On track to receive, or has already received, their CFRE certification is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented

This position is a 1099 role, and the selected individual will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement based on the sensitive nature of information being reviewed.

When applying, please submit both a resume and cover letter outlining significant, career achievements in fundraising and financial resource development.
