Summary: The Capital Campaign Senior Director is a full-time, salaried position for 18-24 months. The primary responsibilities of the Capital Campaign Senior Director are to design, manage and execute the successful conclusion of the capital campaign and supervise and facilitate the effective pursuit of: individualized donor strategies for major donors, the public phase of the campaign and the accurate tracking and dissemination of information regarding the campaign. This position will work with senior staff, board members, consultants, and donors. Additionally, the Capital Campaign Senior Director will maintain a portfolio of major donors and will be responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of this portfolio. The Capital Campaign Senior Director will work closely with the Senior Rabbi, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Advancement Officer, and Capital Campaign Steering Committee.

 

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Develop strategies and tactics to navigate the successful conclusion of the capital campaign.
  • Supervise and facilitate the successful conclusion of the capital campaign by managing staff and effectively collaborating with the Senior Rabbi, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Advancement Officer, and Capital Campaign Steering Committee
  • Supporting the Senior Rabbi, the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Advancement Officer, board members, and other community members in effectively cultivating and then closing on capital campaign donations
  • Attend and lead all Capital Campaign planning and Steering Committee meetings
  • Prepare all lists, reports, and profiles concerning campaign prospects
  • Ensure the accuracy of data and information on prospects and campaign gifts
  • Ensure the accuracy of campaign records including cultivation strategies, evaluations, solicitations, contact reports, and results of all contacts with campaign prospects
  • Ensure proper follow up on fundraising activities with lay leaders and other volunteers participating in the solicitation and stewardship of donors
  • Cultivate and solicit donors as appropriate
  • Supervise a Capital Campaign Manager

 

Competencies and Qualifications: 

  • Experience with and a leadership role in capital campaigns
  • Experience cultivating major gifts
  • Superior management and organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Experience working with board members, lay-leaders and major donor prospects 
  • Ability to move comfortably in a variety of social settings and build meaningful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. 
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, including multi-tasking, and meeting required deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Facility and comfort with technology and enthusiasm for learning new functions and products

 

Salary & Benefits: Pay range is between $100,000-$150,000, commensurate with experience, with a generous benefits package including health, vision, dental, and 401K plans.
