POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Marketing and Communications will be responsible for building and leading JAFCO’s marketing and communications efforts to enhance brand awareness, expand reach, and strengthen donor and community relationships. This team member will develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy, overseeing social media, digital marketing, and content creation to effectively communicate JAFCO’s mission to our community. Collaborating closely with clinical and program staff, they will translate JAFCO’s impactful work into compelling storytelling, support fundraising and donor campaigns, and establish a strong, cohesive brand presence across all communication outlets and social platforms.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategic Marketing & Brand Development
o Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with JAFCO’s mission and growth goals.
o Establish and maintain brand identity, messaging, and storytelling that accurately reflects the impact of our work.
o Ensure consistency across all marketing channels, donor communications, and promotional materials.
o Analyze and measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Digital & Social Media Growth
o Relaunch and manage JAFCO’s social media presence, driving engagement and audience growth.
o Develop and execute digital content strategies including social media, video storytelling, email campaigns, and donor outreach.
o Manage the JAFCO website, ensuring content is compelling, up-to-date, and optimized for engagement.
• Storytelling & Community Engagement
o Work closely with programming and clinical staff to understand and highlight JAFCO’s impact in donor communications, press materials, and social media.
o Develop and manage compelling content including success stories, program highlights, and donor spotlights to drive engagement.
o Build relationships with media, community leaders, and influencers to amplify JAFCO’s reach.

 • Fundraising & Development Support
o Collaborate with the development team to create marketing strategies that support fundraising campaigns, donor retention, and special events.
o Develop donor-focused materials, including annual reports, sponsorship outreach, and impact reports.

• Relationship Building – Connecting with stakeholders, media, and community partners to amplify JAFCO’s reach.
• Project Management – Ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
In this role the candidate must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle as needed for work-related travel. The role may require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, as well as the ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and stand or walk for extended periods. Candidates should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment that may involve a mix of office-based and on-site activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree required, with 5+ years of experience in marketing, communication and social media, preferably in nonprofits, social services, or mission-driven organizations.
• Strong understanding of branding, social media, and digital content strategies.
• Experience in implementing a proactive social media strategy by creating and building out a comprehensive calendar that aligns with an organization’s content pillars, values, or brand.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with experience crafting donor-focused messaging.
• Proficiency in email marketing, website management (WordPress or similar), and social media platforms. (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube & TikTok)
• Experience with fundraising campaigns, donor communications, and grant writing is a plus.
• Ability to work in an in-office setting, with remote work and local travel in the South Florida area, some travel to the Pennsylvania office when needed.
