The Assistant Director, Recruitment will assist the Director, HR & Employee Relations with the process of attracting the best candidates for vacant positions within AJC.  He/she will attract candidates by using various sources, such as job sites, social media and networking, while growing a strong talent pipeline. 

The Assistant Director, Recruitment does all of this while adhering to AJC’s core values: Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence, and Accountability

Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing candidates
  • Identify and contact potential applicants who have skills that match the job requirements and AJC’s culture by using online platforms, referrals, networking, job fairs, cold calling, etc.
  • Post attractive job ads that emphasize benefits and define expectations of being employed at AJC
  • Screening resumes
  • Research each role to be filled by liaising with the hiring manager to obtain a list of desirable skills
  • Review/screen resumes
  • Assess candidate’s skills and experience
  • Coordinating the hiring process
  • Act as coordinator between candidates, hiring managers and HR Dept.
  • Assist in facilitating interviews with hiring managers
  • Handle paperwork and contracts
  • Become familiar with AJC’s onboarding process
  • Monitor and report on hiring metrics, e.g. Time to fill, cost per hire, and quality of hire
  • Building relationships
  • Understand needs, goals and preferences of candidates and AJC hiring managers and provide honest and constructive feedback.
  • Nurture and expand network of contacts, referrals and talent pools
  • Proactively look for candidates by building pipelines and keeping in touch with past applicants.
  • Engage passive candidates and create a strong network
  • Developing Skills and Knowledge
    • Keep up with latest trends, technologies and best practices in the recruiting industry.
    • Know where to look for experienced candidates and how to meet new talent.
    • Explore, and benefit from, social media recruiting
    • Adhere to ethical and legal standards of recruiting
    • Attend HR events to stay current with recruitment trends.
  • Other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • 4 plus years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Team player
  • Computer skills required: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint,
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills
  • Respect for and adherence to confidentiality is required
  • Passion for AJC’s mission is a plus

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000, depending on relevant experience.
