The Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School (CESJDS), an independent school for grades PK-12 in suburban Washington D.C., seeks a full-time, experienced Director of College Counseling to serve as the operational and strategic leader of the College Counseling Department. The Director oversees an Associate and Assistant Director of College Counseling who support graduating classes of 75-90 students. The Director reports to the High School Principal and serves on the High School Leadership Team. As a leader within the school community, the Director is expected to role model professional practices and a strong commitment to the values and mission of the School within the context of a pluralistic Jewish day school.

Work Environment:
Faculty may be asked to perform their work responsibilities on campus and/or at home. In both settings, the teacher is required to maintain a professional environment.
While on campus, classes may be operating either in person or in an alternative setting. Teachers are expected to be present and accessible for the entire school day (contracted hours), regardless of the setting.
In accordance with the School's duty to provide and maintain a workplace that is free of known hazards, the School has adopted a mandatory Vaccination Policy to safeguard the health of our employees and their families and the community at large from infectious diseases such as the flu, which may be reduced by annual vaccinations.
