Position Summary  

HUC-JIR seeks an organized, dedicated, service-oriented, self-starter as our new Alumni Engagement Associate (AEA). Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, the AEA will manage core organizational, programmatic, development communications functions of the College-Institute's alumni engagement operations, with the goal of providing best-in-class service HUC-JIR's robust alumni community, and leveraging their resources to support the work of the College-Institute. The Alumni Engagement Associate must possess the flexibility and willingness to travel as needed. A willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends to participate in events is also needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Manage alumni annual fund campaign, create new committee of class volunteers for peer-peer outreach.

  • Manage the Honorary Degree Program, including communications, events, fundraising and leadership engagement.

  • Create new 36th and 50th year reunion communications and activities, with Director of Planned Giving.

  • Develop new programming for recent alumni, including in-person and virtual reunions, and gatherings at major professional convenings.

  • Support planning and execution of major alumni programs such as retreats, days of learning, and reunions.

  • Track and maintain excellent records on engagement in the HUC Raisers Edge Database system.

  • Manage calendar of professional association conferences, maximizing HUC presence and partnerships.

  • Additional responsibilities in conjunction with Office of Recruitment and Admissions alumni recruitment efforts.

  • Manage stewardship of gifts from synagogues in partnership with the Institutional Advancement team, including scholarship support.

  • Collaborates with Marketing and Communications to manage communications for Alumni Engagement such as email communications, newsletters, website content, correspondence, and social media.
