Community Support Services Social Worker

                                   Community Support Services Social Worker-Part-time

This role is on-site, 15 hours a week

The Marion & Aaron Gural Jewish Community Center, a leader in providing services to the most vulnerable in our community, is hiring a Community Support Services Social Worker. This position will report to the Director of Social Work and Community Support Services. 

Job Description:

• Conduct intakes for our Kadima program for single parent Jewish families, The Mark Ramer Chesed Center, The Rina Shkolnik Kosher Food Pantry and other JCC programs.
• Perform outreach to synagogues, local organizations, government agencies and community members.
• Provide referrals to other community organizations as appropriate.
• Perform crisis intervention, short-term counseling and provide concrete services.
• Develop and maintain a resource network for referrals
• Offer support groups as needed

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work and 3-5 years relevant experience required.
• Must be very familiar with Jewish customs and observance
• Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multitask.
• Excellent writing skills and verbal communication
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software ·
• Compassionate, creative, energetic and positive demeanor a must
