Position Summary:
The Director of Social Work Case Management will lead and oversee the organization’s
case management and social service programs, ensuring compassionate, comprehensive,
and culturally competent care for our members. This role includes conducting and
supervising intakes, assessments, and case planning, while also providing leadership and
guidance to a growing team of case managers.
The Director will oversee both individual and group support programs for members,
identify and fill service gaps, and collaborate closely with the Executive Director onorganizational strategy, program growth, financial planning and long-term vision. The ideal
candidate will have:
• Experience in identifying client needs, creating crisis management plans and
longer-term task driven plans towards self-sustainability.
• Experience working with clients and support volunteers in the community.
• Knowledge of resources and experience in effectively navigating and accessing
service providers.
A strong understanding of Jewish customs & values, traditions, and synagogues are
essential to providing appropriate and respectful care. Experience working within a Jewish
nonprofit or with Jewish populations is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management & Service Delivery
• Conduct comprehensive member intakes, needs assessments, and individualized
service plans.
• Oversee referral coordination to services including housing, medical care, mental
health, insurance, employment, disability benefits, and food assistance.
• Provide direct support to high-need members while maintaining a small caseload.
• Incorporate coaching, mentoring, and life skills training into service planning to
promote long-term self-sufficiency.
• Supervise and evaluate group-based support, education, or enrichment programs
for members that enhance connection, skill-building, and empowerment.
• Work regularly and collaboratively with members on-site at our kindnessG’MACH
distribution center.
Program Oversight & Staff Supervision
• Supervise and support a team of case managers, providing regular in-service
training, case supervision, and case manager performance evaluations.
• Develop regular in-service training for case managers to assist members with
financial literacy, life planning and budgeting.
• Ensure that services are trauma-informed, strengths-based, and responsive to
diverse member needs.• Develop and maintain best practices, workflows, and documentation procedures.
• Track program data and outcomes for evaluation and reporting to Executive
Director.
Program Development & Innovation
• Identify service gaps and emerging needs within the community; propose and
implement new programs accordingly.
• Develop member-facing group programs, workshops, and coaching modules in
areas such as budgeting, financial literacy, and life planning.
• Create and oversee tools for goal setting, progress tracking, and member self-
advocacy.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and align programs with the
organization’s strategic plan and long-term goals.
• Stay current with best practices and trends in social work, poverty alleviation, and
community empowerment.
Organizational Development & Community Outreach
• Build and maintain partnerships with local agencies, coalitions, and community
stakeholders.
• Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and
service provider meetings.
• Assist with grant proposals, donor reports, and presentations that communicate
program success and member impact.
Qualifications:
• Master's degree in social work (MSW) or related field required; LCSW preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in case management or social services, including 2+
years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience with public benefits systems, housing services,
healthcare access, and community resource navigation.
• Skilled in group facilitation and program development, particularly in financial
education, goal setting, or life skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic, client-
centered approach.
• Knowledge of and sensitivity to Jewish values, traditions, and community needs.• Preferred experience working in a Jewish nonprofit or with other Jewish
organizations.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable in a mission-driven environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Planner,
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms—especially Little Green Light—is a plus.
• Efficient in Zoom and setting up meetings.
