Ramah Berkshires is seeking a responsible, dynamic, experienced, organized, energetic, and camp-loving person for a Rosh Edah (Unit Leader) Position. A Rosh Edah oversees the day-to-day camp experience for an Edah (Grade) of up to 70 Campers. Through organization, staff supervision & management, a Rosh Edah crafts the summer experience for Campers.

2025 Dates:

Senior Staff Training:  June 12-15

General Staff Training: June 16-24

Camp Season: June 25 – August 16

Salary: $3200-$5500, depending on experience.  Additional compensation available for pre-summer work. Room & Board provided while in residence at Camp.

Responsibilities:

 Staff

  •       Directly supervise and support 12 – 15 counselors
  •       Manage staff performance and well-being
  •       Perform ongoing staff training in collaboration with Camper Care Team

Campers

  •       Support the well-being and quality of experience of all campers
  •       Play a core role in planning & facilitating summer programming
  •       Know each bunk’s daily schedule and coordinate staff support and coverage
  •       Address camper behavioral and social/emotional issues with counselors
  •       Report directly to Directors regarding camper behavioral and social/emotional issues

 Camp Leadership

  •       Serve as part of the Camp Leadership Team and act as a camp-wide role model and leader

Requirements:

  •       Minimum 3 years experience working with children ages 8-15
  •       Supervisory experiencepreferred
  •       Experience attending or working at a summer camp
  •       Comfort in a Conservative and Egalitarian Jewish environment
