Ramah Day Camp, Greater Boston seeks a "Rosh" Farm for summer 2025!

Job Title: Rosh Farm

Classification: Nonexempt (Seasonal)

Reports to: Camp Director 

Compensation: $6050

Essential Job Functions: 

Spend every day cultivating connections between campers, Jewish tradition, and Gann Academy’s beautiful garden! Make an impact on campers ages 4-13, sharing your love of nature, farming, and Judaism. 

Role and Responsibilities:

Ramah Day Camp of Greater Boston is seeking a passionate and skilled Jewish Educator to lead efforts to deepen the camp's Farm and Teva Program. During the summer, the Rosh Farm will make Jewish agricultural wisdom come alive by facilitating chugim, assisting Gann’s Farm Educator in the garden, and integrating the garden into key camp moments.

This position comes with mentorship and support from Gann Academy’s Farm Educator, who will be on-site for much of the summer.

 

Summer Responsibilities (full time):

  • Facilitate chugim (electives) each day, bringing to life Jewish agricultural wisdom through hands-on gardening activities.
  • Collaborate with other Teva specialists to share resources and integrate learning across the program areas.
  • Communicate with supervisor about both successes and challenges.
  • Serve as a dugma ishit, a positive personal example and role model for campers and other staff, specifically modeling a life of integration of earth-connection and Jewish wisdom.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working directly with youth in a teaching, coaching, camp counselor, and/or facilitative capacity.
  • Track record of interacting with children of multiple ages with creativity, patience, and understandin
  • Experience leading Jewish educational programing
  • Experience with gardening/farming
  • Experience in outdoor education is a plus
  • Must 21+
  • Must submit health history record and examination
  • Must be able to pass a background check as required by the commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Must be able to work in the USA without a visa

Dates: June 16th - August 11th, includes pre-summer prep-work and curriculum building
