Substitute Teacher (on-call)

Compensation: $15 per hour (approximately $120 per full 8-hour day)
Employment Type: On-Call, Daily Basis (Non-Permanent Position)

Position Overview:

Brauser Maimonides Academy is seeking reliable and dedicated substitute teachers to support our students in the absence of their regular classroom teachers. This is an on-call position, and work opportunities will vary based on need. Substitute assignments may be scheduled in advance or arise unexpectedly due to teacher illness or unforeseen circumstances.

School Hours & Availability Expectations:

Our school operates Monday through Friday, with the following schedule:

• Monday – Thursday: 7:45 AM – 3:45 PM (Middle School extends until 4:45 PM on Mondays & Wednesdays)
• Friday: 7:45 AM – 2:45 PM

Substitutes must be flexible and responsive to last-minute requests when possible. 

Responsibilities:

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity in student learning.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
• Engage students in instructional activities and provide assistance as needed.
• Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with students, staff, and parents.
• Complete any required documentation or reports as directed by school administration.

Requirements:

• Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Prior teaching or classroom experience is preferred but not required.
• Must complete a background check (even if previously completed for other schools/organizations).
• MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES
