Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of Jewish leaders, fostering meaningful connections, and being part of a dynamic team? The Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE-Miami) is seeking an Assistant Director for the Teen Department to help inspire and engage Jewish teens through impactful programs and initiatives.

As the Assistant Director, you will play a vital role in supporting the Teen Department’s mission to engage teens in meaningful, relevant, and innovative ways. This position combines education, program management, and community collaboration to ensure our teens thrive and contribute meaningfully to a vibrant Jewish future.

Primary Responsibilities (included but not limited to)

March of the Living Educational Leadership

  • Serve as the community face of the March of the Living program, leading educational components before, during, and after the trip.
  • Be in regular communication with the March of the Living Program Manager (who oversees the logistics of the program) to ensure educational experiences blend seamlessly with program logistics.
  • Recruit and train staff and chaperones to deliver engaging and impactful learning opportunities.
  • Supervise the logistical framework and recruitment for the March of the Living program.
  • Select the staff and chaperones in partnership with the Senior Director.
  • Assist the Senior Director in evaluating the program’s impact and implementing changes, as needed.
  • Communicate with parents and teens regarding March of the Living, as needed.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Miami and the International March of the Living Staff in planning the trip.
  • Oversee the March of the Living committee and work with Senior Director to plan agendas.

Teen Department Program Support

  • Lead the IsraelNow (or similar) 8th grade program which includes 2-3 pre-educational learning sessions and one-week travel to Israel or alternative destination.
  • Supervise the logistical framework and recruitment for the IsraelNow program.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for Teen Department programs, including Diller Teen Fellows, and JTEENMiami website.
  • Ensure that all programs reflect the Teen Department’s mission to engage Jewish teens in meaningful and relevant experiences.

Community Collaboration and Professional Development

  • Occasionally represent the Teen Department at community events, panels, and discussions, supporting the Senior Director’s vision and goals
  • Collaborate with schools, synagogues, and organizations to enhance program visibility and community engagement.

Support for the Senior Director

  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Director to implement the strategic vision and goals of the Teen Department.
  • Provide educational leadership for March of the Living and other key teen programs, ensuring alignment with the Senior Director’s broader objectives.
  • Act as a thought partner to the Senior Director, contributing to strategic planning, program development, fundraising, and departmental initiatives.
  • Oversee the execution of specific projects and initiatives to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the Teen Department’s mission and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees in education, nonprofit management, or a related field are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in youth programming, leadership training, or Jewish education.
  • Knowledge of Holocaust education and Israel programming is a plus.
  • Experience in creating compelling educational content and fostering community engagement opportunities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and programs effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with teens, parents, and community stakeholders. Proficiency in Hebrew or Spanish is a plus.
  • Flexibility to travel and work evenings and Sundays as required to meet program goals and community needs.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary: $75,000, commensurate with experience.

  • Hybrid work environment: Candidates must reside in South Florida, as this position is not remote. 
  • Eligibility: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Ideal start will be June-July 2025.
