Director of Youth Education

Temple Micah is seeking a creative, energetic and responsible educational leader to guide, grow and administer our youth education program.  To be successful at Temple Micah this person needs to love Judaism and children, welcome diversity and discourse, and cultivate curiosity and competence.   

Job Title: Director of Youth Education

Report to: Rabbi

Approved by: Rabbi, with support from Board 

Expected Hours of Work: seasonal, averaging 10-15 hours a week August through May

Salary Range: $22,000 - $25,000

Position Summary:

• Partner with the Temple Micah community to create educational settings for students that are relevant, engaging, provocative, and joyous ... and that will serve to help the students become ethical, informed, and thoughtful Jews.
• Collaborate with the Rabbi in evaluating, envisioning and implementing educational programs that continue to realize the community’s objectives and goals.
• Lead, develop and administer Micah’s weekly Sunday morning Religious School program that provides Jewish education to students from Kindergarten through 7th grade on Sunday mornings and Hebrew education virtually during the week.  
• Lead, develop and administer family educational opportunities and teen programming. 

Experience and skills needed for this position:

• Knowledge of Jewish thought, tradition and community
• Experience in education and/or youth programming
• Understanding of Reform Judaism
• Administrative experience
