Director of Grantmaking

Hillel International, the Schusterman International Center, is looking for a visionary Director of Grantmaking to spearhead a portfolio of grant-making initiatives to support our campus-facing Hillel centers globally. This is your chance to make a real impact on campus in areas that matter to college students—like Jewish Life, Combating Antisemitism, Wellness, Israel Engagement, and Jewish Learning. In this dynamic role, you'll work hand-in-hand with passionate program leads to uncover needs and analyze opportunities, ensuring our grantmaking aligns perfectly with our mission to enrich Jewish campus life. You’ll have the creative freedom to design and implement a transformative portfolio of grants, leveraging our grant management system, Fluxx, to maximize the impact of every resource we distribute. If you're a strategic and analytical thinker with a knack for building partnerships, a focus on continuous improvement, and asking the right questions, we want to hear from you!

**This position is 100% remote within the United States**

What You’ll Do:

Grant Design:

  • Lead the strategic design of grants to ensure they have the most impact.
  • Draft grant applications so that we ask the right questions to collect the best information possible and make informed decisions.
  • Develop reporting requirements to ensure that the grants' goals are appropriately measured.
  • Evaluate the success of our grants and write narrative reports about grant impact.

Grant Administration:

  • Lead the grantmaking process from the time the grant application is approved for building in the Grants Management System, Fluxx, through to the close of the grant, including grant evaluation.
  • Lead the streamlining and centralization of a core portfolio of grants.
  • Manage the entering and updating of information in Fluxx and tracking documents in a timely and accurate manner.

Project Management:

  • Lead the collaborative process with internal program teams to develop grant program materials and shepherd projects from ideas to final reports and payments. This includes understanding programming needs, designing and managing successful applications, consulting on review processes, and managing timelines.
  • Guide the Grants team in managing a portfolio of grants, including meeting regularly with the program leads to ensure that projects are moving forward.
  • Oversight for budget and financial management of each grant application.

Stakeholder & Community Relations:

  • Work closely, collaborating with grant program leads to ensure that program grants are administered effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with field professionals to understand and implement new processes based on need.

Who we’re looking for:

  • At least six years of work experience with at least four years experience in grant-making.
  • At least two years of leadership experience and people management are a plus.
  • College degree in a related field.
  • Experience using a Grants Management System; Fluxx is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strategic thinking - ability to see the big picture and the details.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and someone who thrives as a team member.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and adapt quickly.
  • Knowledgeable in Jewish values, traditions, and culture.

What You’ll Get:

  • Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, Life, AD&D, and Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance, Flexible Spending accounts, generous vacation/sick time, and parental leave.
  • Excellent professional development, mentoring, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Opportunities to attend Jewish and industry conferences.
  • 100% Remote Work Opportunity
