Description

The Director of U.S. State Policy Initiatives will play a key role in expanding CAM’s presence and impact at the state level across the United States. This position is suited for a dynamic, results-oriented leader who will develop strategic partnerships, advance educational programming, and drive legislative initiatives within individual states. The Director will be instrumental in engaging governors, attorneys general, state legislators, policymakers, and educators to strengthen CAM’s influence on state-level policies and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advocacy and Legislative Engagement:
    • Educate governors, attorneys general, and state legislators on actionable measures to combat antisemitism and support Jewish communities.
    • Facilitate state-level policy initiatives, including the development of model legislation and resolutions addressing antisemitism.
    • Organize and coordinate state legislators’ and governors’ delegations to Israel to foster deeper understanding and collaboration.
    • Map and Track State Initiatives: Maintain a detailed map and status report of legislative initiatives, tracking progress, challenges, and outcomes across all states.
  2. Educational Initiatives:
    • Promote CAM’s Jewish American Heritage curriculum within state education departments and public school systems.
    • Lead efforts to increase state-level participation in Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) programming and contests.
    • Work with governors’ education advisors, state boards of education, school administrators, and educators to integrate CAM’s educational resources into curricula and programs.
    • Map Educational Engagement: Develop a state-by-state map highlighting schools and districts implementing CAM’s educational programs, noting the status and impact of these initiatives.
  3. Relationship Building and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with governors, attorneys general, state legislators, and their staff.
    • Serve as CAM’s primary representative for state-level initiatives, ensuring consistent engagement and communication.
  4.  Program Coordination and Implementation:
    • Oversee the planning and execution of state-level events, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
    • Collaborate with CAM’s communications team to ensure cohesive messaging and visibility for state-specific initiatives.
    • Evaluate program outcomes and provide recommendations for improvement and growth.
    • State Initiative Dashboard: Create and manage a dashboard displaying real-time data on state-level initiatives, including legislative actions, educational program adoption, and stakeholder engagement.
