Woodstock Jewish Congregation is looking for a new Family School teacher!

The Family School at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation provides an open, welcoming, and enthusiastic environment where learners and their families practice Judaism in a meaningful and enlivening way. Our Family School is a Hebrew/Jewish Studies School, currently serving approximately 10 6th grade students, with 1 Family/Parents Day a month.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop lesson plans weekly including approximately 10 family days
Teach approximately 10 2- 6th grade students with one teacher’s assistant
Write an email to families after each session with a description of class and include pictures from the day
Decorate classroom spaces to reflect students and their learning
Maintain attendance records
Other duties as assigned and mutually agreed upon

Compensation is at a rate of $52.00 per hour, payable in ½ hour increments.

Hours: Our Wednesday Family School meets weekly on Wednesday evenings, 4–6:30 p.m., and will begin this year on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. The program will run through May 15, 2024.

Arrival will be 30 minutes prior to the beginning of class starting, and there is an expectation that the day ends at 7pm which includes a half hour for clean up.
