POSITION TITLE: Middle School English Teacher
REPORTS TO: Division Head and English Instructional Leader

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Middle School English Teacher is a full-time teacher and member of the English Department. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment where value is placed on the skills and passions of the discipline within a larger context of Milken’s school mission, core values, and educational philosophy. Primary responsibilities include teaching 5 English classes per year, serving as a Student Advisor, and collaborating on school-wide programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide differentiation and intervention when necessary and appropriate.

Monitor the progress of each student for mastery of course standards.

Provide consistent, high-quality feedback to students consistent with articulated course standards.

Design high-quality, student-centered lessons that are well-sequenced in content and developmental appropriateness.

Create a safe and welcoming learning environment.

Engage with students outside the classroom through designated office hours, extracurricular activities, clubs, and school-wide programming.

Pursue ongoing professional development.

Maintain clear and ongoing professional communication with administration, parents, and students.

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required, master’s degree preferred.

Previous teaching experience required, at the middle school level preferred.
Standard On-Campus Hours
Start: M - F by 7:45 AM
End: M - Th 3:30 PM, F 2:30 PM

SALARY RANGE: $70,000 - $115,000
