Ohio State University Hillel is the premier pluralistic Jewish organization at The Ohio State University. The newly created Social Media Manager will be instrumental in helping us achieve these aspirations. OSU Hillel continues to evolve, striving to be a destination for Jewish Buckeyes. We seek an innovative, student-centric, change maker who will develop best-in-class social media across a variety of platforms. The ideal candidate will be nimble, with expertise and interest in toggling between content creation and data collection and analysis to drive improved decision making. What You’ll Do

  • Conduct a comprehensive evaluation across OSU Hillel’s current social media channels and conversations with students to develop a strategic social media plan.
  • Prioritize social media channels that will most effectively reach students and develop a platform-specific approach to optimize OSU Hillel’s presence. 
  • Create and curate engaging content, including graphics, videos, photography, and written posts, ensuring alignment with OSU Hillel’s mission and brand identity.
  • Capture live event content for digital storytelling, including photography and videography.
  • Build an asset library and leverage those assets across multiple platforms.
  • Monitor and actively engage with online communities, responding to comments and messages in a timely and authentic manner.
  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics, using insights to optimize reach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with student leaders and staff to promote events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Train staff and student leaders to effectively capture content, including photos and videos, and delegate responsibilities when appropriate.
  • Stay informed about emerging digital trends and best practices to keep OSU Hillel’s social media presence innovative and relevant.

What You’ll Bring to the Job

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in social media management or digital marketing.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, analytics tools, and content creation software (ex: Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Salesforce, Meta, etc).
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience with photography, video production, and graphic design is a plus.
  • Experience with SEO or familiarity with advertising techniques is a plus.
  • Understanding of the college student demographic and Jewish community engagement is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace with start date of July 1, 2025. 
    • The salary range for this role is $55,000-$65,000.
  • This role is in-person. Candidates residing in Ohio are encouraged to apply.
