Position overview:

Jewish National Fund-USA seeks an Executive Director, Zionist Engagement to be based out of our NYC office.

 

Job Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Engagement Team Leadership:
  • Strategically manage a national team of Engagement Specialists/Outreach Coordinators/Field Development Specialist (internally known as ‘iPads') and division managers responsible for driving participation in key JNF-USA programs, including community, high school and campus initiatives.
  • Set clear sales and engagement targets, monitor team performance, and implement training and development programs to ensure consistent goal attainment.
  • Foster a results-oriented team culture, leveraging data and performance metrics to drive accountability and success.
  • Oversee the Engagement Department's strategic partnerships and effectively integrate JNF-USA Boruchin Center grantees into the strategic vision and objectives for the department.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee the department's recruitment pipeline and establish systems to increase program participation across demographics, including high school students, college campuses, and community leaders.
  • Work collaboratively with the various JNF-USA departments to support recruitment strategies and integrate alumni/alumni parents into JNF-USA's broader educational continuum.
  • Ensure year-over-year growth for JNF-USA's initiatives, with a focus on efficient operations and scaling successful initiatives.
  • Fundraising and Revenue Growth:
  • Lead efforts to meet or exceed the department's $2M annual fundraising goal, securing support for flagship initiatives such as Caravan for Democracy, Faculty Fellowship, Alternative Break, and Tu Bishvat.
  • Partner with development teams to ensure alignment between sales and donor engagement efforts, utilizing the department's impact to drive contributions.
  • Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Represent JNF-USA and the Zionist Engagement Department at key conferences and events, serving as an ambassador for the organization's mission and programs.
  • Engage National Board lay leaders to serve as advocates and resources for recruitment efforts, aligning their passion with the department's strategic goals.
  • Travel and Events:
  • Attend evening and weekend meetings or events as required.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support recruitment, represent JNF-USA, and participate in missions to Israel, the Global Conference for Israel, and staff conferences.
  • Any further duties assigned by your supervisor, which may not be listed above. 

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Educator background not required
  • The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, strategic, and business oriented with 7-10 years of related experience
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Experience with interacting and building relationships to spread IAE mission with lay leaders, professional staff and other institutions
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated strategic thinker, with a proven work record of achieving results
  • Strong follow-through and attention to detail; proven ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Ability to think collaboratively and strategically, recognize opportunities, identify high return activities, and prioritize them to attain goals
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Knowledge of Israel and current trends in the Jewish community is required.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role.
