Job Description: The Community Synagogue is looking for a creative and motivated individual to fill the role of Membership Engagement and Communications Manager. This role requires an individual who can effectively manage both programming initiatives and communication strategies to enhance engagement within our congregation and beyond. 

(Full-Time- flexible schedule, but includes identified holidays & evenings when programs take place) 

Responsibilities (Communications):

  • Manage social media pages to promote events, engage with the community, and share relevant content. 
  • Utilize Canva to design graphics for social media posts, website banners, flyers, and other promotional materials. 
  • Routinely update and maintain the synagogue's website with current information, announcements, and event details.
  • Send out weekly bulletins and emails to keep members informed about upcoming events, programs, and community news.

Responsibilities (Membership Engagement/Programming):

  • Plan and oversee the annual programming calendar in collaboration with colleagues, clergy, and lay leadership/committees.
  • Aid in coordinating speakers and other program contributors throughout the year.
  • Oversee logistics coordination, staffing needs, and space setup to create welcoming events.
  • Track attendance and conduct follow-up including solicitation of feedback to maximize impact of programming.
  • Respond to membership inquiries.

 Skills & Qualifications:

  • Talent for event planning, community engagement and/or volunteer coordination.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, Google Suite, Canva, and Customer Relationship Management systems (ShulCloud).
  • Familiarity with Jewish traditions and culture is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently manage multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility, passion, and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a changing landscape.
  • Available occasional evenings and weekends to take part in meetings and events.
Salary58,000.00 - 63,000.00 Annual
