POSITION SUMMARY:

FIDF is currently seeking a full-time Young Leadership – Los Angeles Manager who will report to the National Young Leadership Director and be a key member of the dynamic, professional, and fast-paced National Young Leadership team. The Young Leadership Campaign focuses on engaging and fundraising within a core demographic of young professionals, ages 21-40, with a focus on creating impactful events, building relationships, and developing a pipeline of lay leadership talent.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of people, local Los Angeles area demographics, and community dynamics. You are highly detail-oriented, organized, and have a proven ability to see projects through from conception to execution. You excel in planning and managing large-scale events and networking opportunities, ensuring every detail contributes to a seamless and inspiring experience for participants. Additionally, you understand the critical importance of managing and collaborating with the local Young Leadership Board, empowering lay leaders to play a central role in advancing FIDF’s mission.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing Young Leadership donors to retain and increase engagement and fundraising support.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the Young Leadership Board, managing communication, fostering strong relationships, and empowering lay leaders to actively participate in donor cultivation, fundraising initiatives, and event execution.
  • Facilitate board meetings, provide strategic guidance, and ensure board members have the tools and resources to be effective ambassadors for FIDF.
  • Represent FIDF at community events to connect with prospects, build relationships, and identify partnership opportunities.
  • Develop and implement local communication strategies, including e-blasts, newsletters, and event invitations, to ensure consistent and engaging outreach to the Young Leadership community.
  • Plan, manage, and execute large-scale events, including galas, bar nights, educational programs, cocktail receptions, and networking opportunities that engage young professionals and inspire support for FIDF.
  • Oversee all event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, programming, and on-site execution, ensuring a high level of attention to detail and quality.
  • Effectively utilize CRM tools to manage donor relationships, maintain data integrity, and inform decision-making processes.
  • Recruit and promote participation in the National Young Leadership Mission to Israel.
  • Manage local Young Leadership budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve fundraising and event goals.
  • Collaborate with local chapter staff to support broader organizational campaigns and events when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in event planning, fundraising, or community building, with a focus on large-scale events and programs.
  • Strong understanding of the Los Angeles area’s young professional demographics who support Israel and the mission of the IDF.
  • Comfortable recommending strategic direction and implementing that direction on his/her own.   
  • Possess a decisive and inclusive decision style with the ability to manage small details while focusing on the big picture. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects from planning through execution.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications and CRM tools; experience with Raiser’s Edge is preferred.
  • Ability to travel locally as needed, with occasional international travel to Israel. Evening and weekend availability required.
