Kindergarten Teacher Opening

Kinneret Day School in Riverdale, NY, is seeking a creative, energetic and skillful Part Time Native Hebrew Speaker Kindergarten Teacher to teach in a collaborative classroom for our Kindergarten Class.  Experience in Early Childhood Hebrew Immersion is desired.   Come join our growing Professional Learning Community where we offer a world class general and Jewish education in a place where family comes first.  Salary commensurate with experience.  Email resume and cover letter to [email protected]

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create a warm immersive classroom community that embodies our school's values of student confidence, responsibility, caring, and love of Israel
  • Strong communication with co-teachers to develop and implement emergent curriculum and run parent/teacher conferences together.
  • Strong communication with parents, administration and students
  • Run learning center activities (Ex. Art, Sensory, Parshat HaShavua, Songs, Dramatic Play, Puzzles/Games, Building, etc.) that provide hands-on experiences, build skills for students in the content areas, strengthen fine and gross motor skills, provide enrichment, enhance SEL, and assess student needs and mastery in Hebrew
  • Create lesson plans that are turned in every two weeks and have a variety of differentiated experiences.
  • Plan and conduct lessons with clear objectives that provide students with a growth mindset and opportunities to observe, question, investigate, and collaborate with one another and have a means of assessing students
  • Observe and evaluate students' academic performance and growth, behavior, and social development
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet student needs and interests
  • Structure thematic free play and dramatic play opportunities
  • Weekly newsletters highlighting student engagement, projects, and academics such as high frequency/red letter words of the week for parents to practice at home with their child
  • Maintain an organized and inviting classroom with regularly updated bulletin boards that showcase student work
  • Participate in all staff meetings, PD, and other professional opportunities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Native Hebrew Speaker or equivalent Hebrew level required
  • Proven experience in classroom management and lesson planning for kindergarten students
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
