About JCRC-NY:

The Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY), a proud UJA-Federation of NY agency, serves as the primary community relations agency for the Jewish community in the metropolitan New York area.  As an active force in New York civic and communal life, JCRC-NY operates as a central coordinating and resource body to advance the values, interests and security of the New York Jewish community and build a more interconnected New York for all.

 

Position Overview:

The Development Associate is a core member of the JCRC-NY’s dynamic Development Team driving efficiency and precision in the organization’s fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the associate will provide essential administrative and CRM (e.g. Blackbaud’s eTapestry) support for the department. The associate will be responsible for JCRC-NY’s data management systems, spearheading the migration to a new CRM, implementing best practices for data accuracy and efficiency, and will play a critical role in supporting fundraisers and events by ensuring data integrity and providing insights that track and analyze the success of our initiatives. This is a full-time position subject to the current policy of being in-office at our midtown offices three weekdays each week, including Thursdays.

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Data Entry and Management

  • Provide administrative and data entry support to the Development team.
  • Support the entry and tracking of events and fundraising campaigns in the CRM.
  • Integrate data from third-party platforms into the CRM.
  • Assist with daily gift entry processing and acknowledgment generation, as needed.
  • Routinely and accurately input, update, monitor, audit, clean, and maintain development data to eliminate duplicate, inconsistent, or outdated records.
  • Assist CDO in establishing and implementing policies, procedures, and user guides as necessary to ensure data integrity and consistency

Reporting

  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards to provide at-a-glance summaries for Development staff and lay leadership.
  • Generate ad hoc reports in response to specific data-related inquiries across the team.
  • Gather and consolidate campaign-related data to support on-going analysis.

Supporting Team Operations

  • Respond to donor and stakeholder inquiries via phone or email, delivering prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Support all members of the Development Team on all initiatives.
  • Provide project management support by tracking tasks, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure the team remains organized and on schedule.
  • Assist with preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals, meeting materials and special mailings (including mail merges).

Development Efforts

  • Supports the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns such as direct mailings, emails, text messages, webpages, proposals, and collaborations with other staff for location specific partners and events.
  • Assist CDO in identifying and creating profiles for prospective individuals and organizations with high giving potential to increase fundraising effectiveness.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Strong critical thinker with keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communicator: skilled listener, asks the right questions, builds relationships with others effectively, strong written and verbal communication.
  • Exemplary customer service skills and strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Familiarity working with databases. Strong knowledge of Excel and CRM databases.

  • Highly effective interpersonal and relational skills, including a demonstrated ability to work successfully across complex, matrixed teams and with roles at multiple levels.
  • A good blend of entrepreneurial spirit and the capacity to work within a team.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Annual Salary: $60,000
  • Benefits package including, healthcare, paid vacation, personal/sick days, UJA-Federation pension plan, 403B plan available
