Title: Manager, Events
Status: Full-time position based at the Federation offices in Irvine, California
Reports To: Senior Director of Philanthropy
Salary:  $60,000 - $75,000, anticipated salary near midpoint; commensurate with experience

Jewish Federation of Orange County is seeking a person to plan, produce and execute event activities that advance the organization’s mission. This position will play an integral role in our major events in addition to supporting external facing events for community members. This role will be a part of the Development (or FRD – Financial Resource Development) team and will report to the Senior Director of Philanthropy.   

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and produce all major events under the direction of the Senior Director of Philanthropy and in coordination with program directors, including but not limited to Women’s Philanthropy VOICES, Solomon Society Late Night, Rose Project Countering Hate, JFedOC Annual Meeting, donor events, engagement events, and parlor meetings.  
  • Partner with Federation staff and lay leadership to plan and manage events that enhance the perception of Federation, and raise public awareness of Federation’s vision and mission.
  • Work closely with JFedOC’s leadership team and volunteers to ensure event logistics/activities are executed in a timely manner and achieve the mission of JFedOC.
  • Ensure fulfillment of sponsorship benefits as they relate to events and marketing endeavors.
  • Create and manage events calendars (including timelines), while tracking expenses & revenue.
  • Plan and support general organizational events and meetings that require assistance.
  • Manage event administration, including managing online/CRM systems to track registration, payments, and seating.
  • Maintain event checklist and needed supplies.
  • Implementation of table captain strategies, provided by program directors, to deepen Table Captain commitment to JFedOC including regular communication, updates, and training.
  • Support organizational travel (missions), as needed, with regard to registration, logistic tracking, payment recording, and invoicing.
  • Engage in and support fundraising and campaign activities as advised the Senior Director of Philanthropy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Other Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in all aspects of events management, from strategy to implementation.
  • Strong organization and time management skills including the ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to logically solve problems with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and be detail-oriented.
  • Discretion handling and communicating sensitive information.
  • Willingness to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel on occasion and to work some nights and weekends.
  • Familiarity with event software and technology (including Microsoft office/CRMS) helpful.
  • Experience in developing compelling event themes, desired outcomes, and event strategies for a range of events for a few and up to 1,000+ participants.
  • Experience managing team members and volunteers in the planning and execution of events.
  • Ability to evaluate vendors and negotiate contracts for event services.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and enthusiastic attitude.
