The Huntington Jewish Center is seeking a part-time (20-30 hours per week) Cantor starting immediately. This person will help fulfill the spiritual and musical needs of our active and engaging congregation.
Job Responsibilities include:
-Leading Shabbat services with our Rabbi one Friday and two Saturday services per month
-Leading Holiday services (not High Holidays) with our Rabbi
-Engaging with our Religious school students and families by supporting Hebrew/prayer curriculum and musical programs.
-Coordinating and providing B’nai Mitzvah instruction for five students
-Organizing Torah Readers and readings on all Shabbat and Holiday Services
The ideal Candidate will be:
-personable, energetic, spiritual, reliable, and engaging
-have a pleasant, trained singing voice that will inspire our congregation
-be knowledgeable and comfortable with contemporary and traditional music
-have knowledge of nusach
-play an instrument
-be a team player
Salary: $50K-$70K depending on experience/availability
