Job Summary

The Margaux School at Temple Judea is a national leader in Reggio and Judaic education for children ages 15 months to Prekindergarten. The Margaux Early Childhood School at Temple Judea is hiring an innovative and collaborative Assistant Teacher for the 2023-24 school year. As an Assistant Teacher you will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the children in your care, as well as the growth and development of your colleagues. You will also share in the responsibilities with your Lead Teacher in the overall planning, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum and related assessments. This is a great first step in the pipeline to becoming a Lead Teacher.

 

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
  • Document children's learning and development.
  • Daily planning with your Lead Teacher based on documentation of children progress, the classroom environment and the intellectual passions of the children.
  • Provide small and large group experiences for children.
  • Collaborate with your Age Group to revise and implement a Reggio-inspired curriculum that is aligned with the Jewish values of our school.
  • Support strong partnerships with families.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Attend cutting-edge professional development opportunities to stay up to date on the latest trends in early childhood education.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with preschool age children (15 months to 5 years).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing meaningful and intentional learning experiences for all children.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in working with families.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Reggio-inspired or other constructivist early childhood education philosophies.
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Jewish life, traditions and culture, as well as an ability to integrate these concepts appropriately into the program, environment and with staff.
