Program Associate

 

The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation is seeking a Program Associate at the Mandel Institute for Nonprofit Leadership in Brookline, Massachusetts. The Program Associate is a pivotal role that provides comprehensive support for the Institute’s Executive and Educational Leadership Programs. Interest in Jewish communal work—specifically in the areas of education, nonprofit and social leadership, and Israel studies—as well as a desire to support a mission-driven organization, will be assets in this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Program Support: Executive and Educational Leadership Programs

  • Partners with Directors to plan program components and execute logistics for Boston-based seminars.
  • Provides scheduling and administrative support for virtual learning sessions.
  • Manages Learning Management System to organize and distribute program schedules, readings, session recordings, and other program-related content.
  • Supports evaluation activities, including fielding surveys and analyzing data.
  • Develops positive relationships with fellows to support community building and cohort cohesion.

 

Recruitment and Admissions: Executive and Educational Leadership Programs

  • Assists with all aspects of recruitment for Executive and Educational Leadership Programs, including field engagement, communications, and interaction with prospective candidates.
  • In partnership with each Program Director, coordinates application review, candidate interviews, and selection.
  • Manages post-admissions activities, including fielding surveys, admissions committee debrief meetings, and onboarding of selected fellows.

 

Israel Study Tours: All Programs

  • Serves as primary staff liaison to the Institute’s tour company to establish itineraries, transportation, food, accommodations, and venues.
  • Manages local field coordinator during seminars to ensure smooth execution of all seminar logistics and troubleshoot issues that emerge.
  • In the field, handles communication with seminar speakers and educational partners.
  • Coordinates payments for speakers, partners and venues.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with high academic achievement.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A keen attention to detail in all aspects of professional work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A team-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively with a variety of colleagues, program participants, and organizational stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a demonstrated ability to adapt to new business and educational software platforms.
  • Prior experience with event coordination, logistics management, and community engagement is highly desirable.
  • Preference for candidates with knowledge of or experience working in Jewish nonprofit, educational and cultural fields served by Mandel programs.
  • Proficiency in Hebrew and knowledge of Israeli society will be considered strong assets.

 

The Program Associate will co-report to the Director of the Executive Leadership Program and the Director of the Educational Leadership Program and work collaboratively with other members of the Mandel Institute's professional team. They will interact with Mandel Institute fellows, graduates, faculty members, mentors, outside vendors, and the broader Mandel Institute community.

 

The position is full-time, in person (with an option of remote work two days per week) and includes employee benefits (see below). Annual salary is competitive, within a range of $55,000 - $65,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Qualified applicants must live within a reasonable commute of the Mandel Institute office in Brookline, Massachusetts.
