The Dupree Conference and Education Center (DCEC) is an Atlanta based start-up with a mission to present world-class and emerging thought leaders, foster meaningful Jewish learning experiences, and create opportunities to connect and learn with those who share a passion for Judaism and Israel. DCEC is part of the Dupree, a facility where visitors and Jewish non-profit tenants find Jewish community, learning, and connection through curated programs and an on-site kosher café to open in 2025.

 

We are seeking a knowledgeable, driven, collaborative connector to serve as the inaugural Director of Programs at this new hub for Jewish Life in Sandy Springs, GA.  If you love the latest Jewish podcasts, enjoy staying current on books and Jewish discourse, and are excited by the opportunity to build and lead educational programming, this is the position for you! As a creative and inspirational Jewish educator or programmer, the Director will curate and implement a robust calendar of adult Jewish education programs in collaboration with local and national Jewish organizations. These offerings will include text and chavruta study, speaker series, panel discussions, and more.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary Jewish professional committed to leading deep, meaningful adult Jewish learning experiences and fostering community among learners. This full-time, in-person position is based in metro Atlanta and reports to the Chief Operating Officer. Candidates should expect to work several evenings per month and periodic weekends.

 

Position Title: Director of Programs                                                                                         Location: Atlanta, GA

Hours: 40 hours/week                                                                                                                   FLSA: Non-exempt

 

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Set Strategic Vision and Provide Leadership:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive program strategy to support the mission and goals of DCEC.
  • Hold broader educational vision while ensuring individual events and details align with strategic goals.
  • Act as the primary leader and steward of all Jewish learning and programming efforts.
  • Foster partnerships with national and local Jewish organizations, educators, clergy, and leaders.
  • Assist COO to represent DCEC in Atlanta’s Jewish community and with national organizations.


Program Design and Execution:

  • Curate a high-volume calendar of adult Jewish educational offerings appealing to a range of Jewish backgrounds and demographics.
  • Meticulously plan advance logistics for multiple events simultaneously.
  • Ensure all programs meet attendance goals, including proactive outreach and strategic promotion.
  • Recruit, train, and support program moderators or facilitators, when needed.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Partner with Events Coordinator, security, facilities, and others to meet on-site program needs. Implement marketing and registration in coordination with Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Create, collect, and analyze participant feedback and engagement data to evaluate impact and continuously improve programming.
  • Ensure program participants and partners adhere to DCEC’s community standards.
  • Negotiate and execute external speaker and educator contracts.
  • Ensure adherence to department budget and individual program budgets.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Rabbinic smicha or Master’s degree in Jewish education, Jewish nonprofit management, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant full-time experience in Jewish adult education programs.
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about Judaism with a strong commitment to Israel.
  • Willing to work with educators and clergy from broad range of Jewish denominations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary range $70,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Full-time employees are offered a complete benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; closures for select Federal and Jewish holidays; a 401K plan with an employer contribution; and charitable contributions on behalf of employees.
  • Up to half off tuition to any participating, eligible Jewish day school in Atlanta.
