Title: Associate Director of Security 

Reports to: Sr. Director of Training & Security

Location: New York – Hybrid

The Community Security Service (CSS) is the leading Jewish volunteer security organization in the United States protecting Jewish life and Jewish way of life. 

CSS is looking for a full-time Associate Director of Security to support the organization’s security & training efforts. The Associate Director of Security is responsible for managing the security operations of the organization, in addition to supporting the development and execution of innovative and engaging security-related security & training initiatives. 

Working closely with the National Sr. Director of Training & Security, Regional Managers, and volunteers, you will develop and execute plans that deliver on the organization's goals and build the capabilities of the volunteers across the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of security training modules that includes virtual (LMS) and in-person components,
  • Assist with the delivery of training sessions and advanced courses for different types of clients. 
  • Engage with community volunteers and stakeholders around security.
  • Assist in overseeing operations for CSS security teams
  • Develop and manage the department’s annual schedule for training & site visits.
  • Analyze metrics and report security operations  effectiveness.
  • Support the crisis management operations of the organization, including weekends and Jewish holidays). 

 

Education, Experience, and Desired Skills

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in security / national security / law enforcement.  
  • Instructional design experience including content development, delivery, and program evaluations; preferably in security. 
  • Experience developing training material via eLearning, video, in-person, and other presentations.
  • Team player. 
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. 
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment supporting a nonprofit organization. 
  • Self-starter with a high degree of initiative, dependability & accountability. 
  • Microsoft Office and Google Workspace proficiency.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
